"Almost Heaven, West Virginia"
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity...”

Fourteen of us ladies went backpacking in West Virginia in 2010. We took water filters, packaged foods to cook over jet boils, tents, and a love for adventure.
Now, you might be wondering what we were doing here....Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, oh, my!!!
We had to protect our food from the local bears' appetites, so we bagged all of our food, toothpaste, and anything that might be deemed edible, and then put ropes on it and hung it in a tree!
What is a typical backpacker's meal?
So, who wants to be the first to explain how a jet boil is used?
You know, I've traveled a lot of places. My favorite place to be is in the mountains, backpacking, and hiking trails. I will definitely take Mountain House chicken a'la king cooked by a jet boil over the best French restaurant in the world. It is definitely almost heaven....
